Arthritis

Mix together;
6 cloves garlic crushed
3 tbsps Manuka honey
3 tbsps cider vinegar
1 pint warm water

Stir and keep in the refrigerator. Take 3 tbsps each morning.

Antibiotic for Minor Infections

Mix together;
1 pint boiling water
1tbsp cayenne
1 tsp ginger

Take 2 tbsps in warm water every 4 hours, with 1 segment of raw garlic and a glass of water.

Boils and Carbuncles

Any of the following poultices;
Hot bread and milk- A piece of white bread, larger than the boil, dipped in a small amount hot milk and applied to boil or carbuncle.
Mustard - Heat a clean cloth 200 F, 10-20 mins. Make a paste with dry mustard and boiling water. Apply to boil and wrap heated cloth over it, then cover with another cloth.
Slippery Elm powder – Mix with hot water to form a thick paste, then apply as for bread and milk poultice.
In all cases repeat four hourly and leave covered overnight. Seek medical advice if condition worsens or does not improve after 24 hours.

Bee Stings

Rub with a metal coin to release the poison, apply ice until pain has gone, then any of the following;
Lemon juice
Honey
Baking soda then crushed dock leaves
Onion
Garlic
Vinegar
Tomato pulp
Witch Hazel

Constipation

Soak 1 tbsp linseeds overnight in 1 cup water. Strain and drink the liquid next morning. Then drink 1 glass water every hour, on the hour until 7 pm, or 3 hours before bed.

Coughs

Garlic syrup; Boil a large quantity of garlic bulbs in water until soft and add as much white vinegar, as there is water left. Add sugar, 3.2 kg sugar to 2 litres water and boil again to make a syrup. Keep in the fridge and take 2-3 tsp per day, as needed.

Indigestion

1 tsp grd ginger
1 tbsp baking soda
1 drop peppermint essential oil
1 quart boiling water

Mix all ingreds except peppermint oil and add this when mixture is cold. Take 1-2 tbsps after meals.

Herpes Simplex (cold sores)

Earl grey teabags applied to lesions for a few minutes, several times a day. They will crust over and heal in 4-5 days.

Nipples ( sore and cracked )

Calendula and Hypericum oil (not during breastfeeding)
Fresh air and sunlight exposure daily
During pregnancy; Rub with wheatgerm oil, Aloe vera gel or almond oil to prepare.

Pimples

A clove of garlic rubbed on a pimple will dry it up

Ringworm

Garlic; rub on a freshly cut clove, 4 x day
Teatree essential oil applied 4 x day
Expose area to ½ hour sunlight daily

L- Lysine
Lecithin
B 12
No nuts or chocolate

Sunburn

Any of the following, applied hourly to painful area.

Aloe vera gel
Strong cold tea
Elderflower lotion
Lemon juice and milk
Pulped raw cucumber

Varicose Veins

Foot and leg exercises

Hot and cold compresses with Rosemary essential oil, 2 x day for 3 mins, alternately on each leg. Repeat four times.

Lymphatic drainage, daily walks and weight loss if needed.

Vomiting or Nausea

Teas of Lemon balm or Peppermint
Barley water; Rinse ½ cup pearl barley in cold water. Add 2 cups fresh water and simmer in a pot. Bring to the boil then reduce heat , simmer for further 10 mins. Strain and sip throughout the day.

Wasp Stings

Lemon juice or apple cider vinegar applied, after removal of sting and ice application ( see bee stings).
