Asthma

Asthma is a disease that causes sensitive airways in the lungs, so that when people are exposed to certain triggers, the airways narrow, triggering an attack. Symptoms of asthma include difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, wheezing and coughing. Some common triggers are viral infections, allergens such as dust, pollen and tobacco smoke, sudden changes in temperature or weather or, in rare cases, food additives. Treatments for asthma include drug therapy, naturopathy, homeopathy, massage, Ayurveda, the Buteyko Breathing Method, herbal medicine, yoga and acupuncture.
