Labour Preparation and Induction

Labour preparation helps you to become more prepared both mentally and physically for the process of giving birth. Ways that you can prepare for labour include drawing up a birth plan, hydrotherapy, herbal medicine, meditation, aromatherapy, reflexology, acupuncture, acupressure, massage, yoga and breathing exercises. Induction is when labour is induced artificially for a variety of reasons. Methods of inducing labour include membrane sweeping, the use of prostaglandins, oxytocin, and the artificial rupture of membranes. Natural methods include acupressure, walking, herbal teas and tonics and relaxation therapies.
