Obesity
Obesity is the term applied when a person is overweight by more than 20 percent above the recommended weight for a person’s height and age. This excess body fat is dangerous as it can lead to illnesses such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, sleep apnea, high blood pressure and arthritis, amongst others. Treatment for obesity includes medication, surgery, weight loss therapies, counseling, Ayurveda, herbal medicine, nutritional therapy, and homoeopathy.
