Feldenkrais is an amazingly effective way to free yourself from the limiting postural effects of injury, misuse, neglect and age

Welcome to Body Reset: Feldenkrais method® of awareness through movement®
It's a common mistake to think mind and body are separate, and that improving your 'body' requires stretching and exercising particular muscles as if they were isolated components of a machine. Think of the incredible co-ordination of muscles across your body required for even a simple movement, say walking. The Feldenkrais method deliberately and ingeniously targets enduring improvement to your overall controlling 'software' rather than temporary relief to parts of your 'hardware'.
Feldenkrais is the thinking person’s exercise that:
- improves ease of movement, posture and hence wellbeing
- reduces the effects of misuse (e.g. OOS), injury and neglect
- enhances sports performance
- reduces anxiety

About me
I tried the Feldenkrais method in desperation after physiotherapy and other methods failed to rid me of a persistent shoulder problem. The Feldenkrais method not only reset my shoulder but - to my amazement - the stiff knee and hip that I thought was 'my lot' vanished, and my posture improved beyond recognition. I now move - and hence live - more fully and easily.
I took a leap of faith and started the intensive training to be a Feldenkrais practitioner, both to get more exposure to its benefits, and so that I could introduce others to them. I'm now in the fourth and final year of Feldenkrais training. I have qualified to teach awareness through movement classes, but not (yet) the other Feldenkrais method of functional integration.
I am one of New Zealand's most experienced expedition sea kayakers, and a nidan black belt in aikido. Feldenkrais has transformed my performance and enjoyment of kayaking and aikido, as well as of tramping, cycling, skiing and anything else I do, so I appreciate the benefits that Feldenkrais brings to sports performance as well as to daily life.
A friend told me that studying the Feldenkrais method would be a life-changing experience: they were right!
I look forward to introducing you to the pervasive benefits of this method.
