Location: 16 Gerald Street, Lincoln. near CRT real estate. Qualifications:
Dip Therapeutic Massage CCNM – registered RMT with Massage New Zealand (MNZ) Cert Advanced Sports, NZ Bcs Hons Property & Estate Management. Bristol UK Dip Law. Bristol UK

Experience: I have previously been involved with the NZ Women’s Waterpolo team, The Silver Ferns and The All Blacks during their competitions here in Christchurch, performing post game sports massage. Since my Diploma I have completed the Advanced Sports massage course, a Myofascial release course called ‘The Anatomy Trains’ and a Lomi-Lomi (Hawaiian style) massage for pregnant women. Pregnancy can be a wonderful time for a woman, however it comes with common aches and pains that can be soothed with gentle but effective touch. Due to the hormone relaxin your muscles, ligaments and joints are more susceptible to damage due to overstretching. A pregnancy massage is gentle with variably deeper pressure over the neck, shoulders, lower back and hips, being mindful of the many labour-stimulating pressure points. Pre-natal massage is a passion of mine and I have purchased amazingly comfy supports for the massage table, especially designed for pregnant women to lie on. I am confident to massage in the 1st Trimester although, if you have had previous complications or are undergoing I.V.F, I would recommend waiting until the 2nd Trimester for massage. If your midwife/Obstetrician has given you any warning that you might be experiencing a ‘high risk’ pregnancy, I must request a signed consent form from them before the massage. I am happy to e-mail you or your midwife a copy of my consent form. The Hawaiian style of massage involves floor massage (side-lying on the specially designed ‘Body Form’ cushions), the use of an exercise ball for support while kneeling or leaning against a wall and work on the massage table. We can utilise one or all of these techniques to give you the best possible experience for your body shape at the time. If desired, I can use an unscented all-natural beeswax as an alternative to the deep tissue, scented massage wax. I wish you all the best during your pregnancy.
