I massage intuitively using a range of complementary massage therapies including sports massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish/relaxation massage, trigger point therapy and neuromuscular therapy. I have fine-tuned these techniques and gained experience from working as a Massage Therapist for 22 years.
Massage is an extremely powerful tool that can benefit people of all ages. The art of massage is to find the trouble spots which is a challenge I enjoy immensely. Searching out areas that cause stress and pain, assessing where you need the treatment and what may be causing the pain. Sometimes a client knows exactly what and where these areas are and their source, but often, what hurts the most is not the origin of the pain.
I can work with you to develop a personalised massage treatment plan just for you and your needs. I will help you achieve your goals, whether you wish to:
• reduce your muscle tension, pain or discomfort
• assist in the support of your injuries
• stretch and lengthen your tight muscles
• increase your flexibility
• enhance your performance
• decrease your stress levels
• simply relax and take time out for yourself
It's all about results for you. Whether you're a “weekend warrior” who hits the streets, fields or hills and wants to go faster, harder or longer, compete in events and wish to recover faster and reduce the risk of injury or if you want to relieve the stress and strain of a hard week of work or running around after children – I can help you get your body working.
If you suffer from headaches or migraine, if you feel like you're carrying a lot of tension in your shoulders and upper back, if you ever get tingling or numbness in your hands or fingers, have sciatica, or lower back pain, or you just know that your body isn't moving the same as it used to, then massage therapy can help you.

Sports Massage helps prevent and treat injuries. All types of physical activity can lead to a build up of stress and tension in the body's tissues. Various techniques including deep tissue and trigger point therapy and stretching are used to restore mobility to injured muscle tissue.
Sports massage can help through all stages of training. It helps with prevention and recovery before and after events.
This therapy helps improve circulation, boosts lymphatic flow, increases range of motion and flexibility and flushes out metabolic waste.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE:
Is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle, connective tissue and fascia. Firm pressure and slow strokes are applied to both superficial and deep layers of muscles, fascia and other structures.
This type of massage is particularly beneficial for people with chronic pain or lingering injuries that cause limited mobility.
SWEDISH / RELAXATION MASSAGE:
Consists of flowing strokes, kneading and gentle manipulations of the muscles performed at your chosen pressure.
A relaxation massage helps de-stress and loosen up the body and is great for those who have had a hard working week or feel like treating themselves to some TLC.
Trauma, emotional and mental stress can be stored in our bodies impacting our ability to function at our full potential. Over time this can lead to illness and depleted mental reserves. Relaxation massage can help restore these reserves and the proper flow of energy .
NMT is a highly effective treatment for the elimination of pain caused by muscular strain, overuse and trauma. The hands-on protocols are precise and thorough. It addresses 5 key elements that cause pain:
Ischemia: The lack of blood flow to soft tissues that cause hypersensitivity to touch.
Trigger Points: Highly irritated points in muscles that refer pain to other parts of the body.
Nerve Compression / Entrapment: Pressure on a nerve by soft tissue, cartilage or bone.
Postural Distortions: Imbalance of the muscular system resulting from the movement of the body off the horizontal and longitudinal planes. Longtime posture habits are the most common cause of pain from this element.
Biochemical Dysfunction: Imbalance of the musculoskeletal system resulting in faulty movement patterns ie: poor lifting habits, computer keyboarding.
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY:
A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. A trigger point in the back, for example, may produce referral pain in the neck. Often headaches are the result of referred pain from muscles in the neck or shoulder area.
Trigger Point therapy is designed to alleviate the source of pain by isolated pressure and release. The massage releases constricted areas in the muscles, so alleviating pain.
This massage is customised to an expectant mother's needs but is often used to promote relaxation. Many pregnant women suffer from lower back pain and swollen ankles especially in the later months, massage is a safe way to provide relief.
Soft hand-held heat modalities which provide long lasting heat to your muscles.
Thermal Palms are great when feeling general body tension, restlessness. The heat stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, increasing the ability to relax and let go of tension.
Using the Thermal Palms at the the beginning of your treatment helps relax and prepare the muscles, tendons and ligaments for massage. They can reduce the feelings of discomfort often present with deep tissue massage. With warm pliable muscles body treatments are more effective. Reusing the Thermal Palms near the end of your massage helps reheat the tissues for drainage. The lymphatic system is stimulated which helps release the build up of lactic acid present in muscle tension. Using Thermal Palms during a deep tissue massage can reduce the incident of muscle and soft tissue tenderness the day after the massage.
INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE:
A holistic therapy which aims to bring balance between mind, body and spirit to promote physical, emotional and spiritual health and well-being.
The massage itself is a calming, revitalizing and uplifting experience, working on the upper back, neck, shoulders, scalp, face and pressure points with Ayurvedic oils massaged into the scalp for their therapeutic properties.
In India, pressure points are called Marmas. They are considered to be where life energies are concentrated. Tension tends to concentrate around these points. As these points are stimulated the muscle tension yields to the finger pressure, enabling the fibers to elongate and relax, blood to flow freely and toxins to be released and eliminated. Indian Head Massage incorporates the use of at least 10 pressure points on the shoulders, neck, scalp and face.
