What does Homeopathy do?
Homeopathy efficiently works with the body to restore balance and vitality on all levels, is incredibly powerful and safe for all ages, even pregnancy and babies. I find it especially effective in digestive disorders of all kinds, emotional distress, mental imbalance and nervous disorders.
The Homeopathic Remedy affects change on the deepest energetic level of our being: That force by which our body is kept alive and without which, it is dead. This is the level of being that we are dealing with: 'The Vital Life Force'.
If the Vital Life Force is not in balance then not all systems of the body will be functioning correctly and symptoms will appear after a period of time.
The homeopathic remedy works to restore this balance so all systems of the body begin to function correctly, resulting in relief of symptoms.
What illness is treatable with Homeopathy?
Dysfunction of endocrine, nervous, digestive systems, musculo-skeletal, skin, etc. and their subsequent ranges of diseases are all treatable with Homeopathy.
What are remedies made from?
There are over 4000 Homeopathic remedies available from nature and available through the Homeopathic Pharmacy. An homeopathic remedy usually originates from a mineral, plant or animal substance. The original substance is used to make all subsequent batches which means our natural resources are not continually plundered.
Are they safe for use?
Homeopathic remedies are prepared in such a way that they are well known as being safe for use during pregnancy, infancy, old age or the very ill. Due to the special preparation of homeopathic medicines at the homeopathic pharmacy, all toxicity is eradicated from the remedy, no matter how poisonous the substance may be in it's crude form.
What should I expect from a Homeopathic consultation?
At your first appointment, we have a conversation about your complaint and how it is affecting you, your health history, your family health history and general information about yourself. This appointment is thorough and takes an hour and a half.
I then choose a specific homeopathic remedy based on my understanding of your state of health. This is taken in the form of drops on the tongue or drops onto small sugar pills that are also dissolved on the tongue.
After the remedy:
After taking the remedy the body immediately begins an active process toward rebalancing itself... Like a covering that has been preventing the body from moving freely to clear illness the remedy serves to remove it... Like a spring coil that was wound up too tight the remedy now gently unfastens it... the body relaxes and begins a natural 'unwinding' process.
From then on it is the body that regains control and does what it needs to do to restore health. Once energy is cleared to flow correctly, the body is it's own most powerful healer.
What can I expect from an Homeopathic Remedy?
Sometimes, there is immediate improvement that continues steadily as time goes on...
Other times, the body decides that it’s time to throw out the garbage! In this case, sometimes symptoms become temporarily more noticeable before relief occurs.
Sometimes old ailments return that you thought were long gone! The body has returned to a previous state of health – a very good sign.
The difference is that these old symptoms usually reappear less severely, stay for a shorter period of time and then subside (usually for good.) When this happens we need to wait until these symptoms disappear in your body’s own time. If they don’t disappear on their own a new remedy may be needed.
How long will it take to improve?
The way your body responds to the remedy and then acts to eradicate illness will be unique to you. Depending on the severity and type of illness, improvement may be ‘dramatic / rapid’ with immediate relief and requiring no further treatment or ‘subtle’ / ‘slow’, perhaps taking weeks, months or longer and needing regular monitoring.
How will I know if I'm getting better?
Sometimes it is really obvious and sometimes it's difficult to accurately assess one’s own overall progress - especially if we have a long and complicated history of illness... Often when our health is improved we forget our old problems but are acutely aware of the existing ones! So you may think you’re not progressing when in fact your general health has greatly improved.
Likewise, you notice improvement to your satisfaction but other factors indicate to me that there is still a way to go!
What you can do… Relax. Follow any recommendations given at consultation. I encourage you to leave me a message / text / e-mail me by end of the first week to let me know how you are.
As health progresses we aim that visits become less frequent (unless you benefit from the counselling aspect of the consultation) until there is only need for a six-month or annual check.
How are Homeopathic Medicines prepared?
The Homeopathic Pharmacy takes a substance, such as a plant, let's say 'Belladonna' for instance.
The first step is to grind up the plant and soak it in alcohol for approximately a week. It then becomes an herbal 'mother tincture'.
Next, the Homepathic Pharmacist begins to 'potentise' the medicine by taking one drop out of the mother tincture and placing it into an emptly vial, to which is added 99 drops of distilled water.
The vial is then 'succussed' or tapped vigorously against the palm of the hand.
The potentisation process is repeated again and again until there is no physical substance left (over 12 potentisations). After that the potentisation procedure is continued until the desired potency level is reached according to the requirements of the Homeopath.
What is left remaining?
After potentisation the substance is now an energy medicine that still contains the energetic essence of it's original source.
How do you know there is something tangible left of the original substance?
The symptoms produced by Homeopathic preparations have been literally proven time and time again by Homeopaths for over 250 years as volunteer human 'provers' have willingly taken various Homeopathic preparations until clear and undisputable new symptoms were experienced and recorded meticulously. Those specific symptoms that are found to be a unique trait of a particular remedy are important to the Homeopathic prescription and are therefore collated into vast Materia Medicas that make up our literature today.
How does the practitioner know what to give?
The remedy is prescribed based on the 'Like Cures Like' principal. That is, the similarity it has to the symptoms produced by a person with their naturally occuring illness.
For example, a few of the symptoms that the Belladonna remedy produces are fever with red face, throbbing headaches and sometimes delerium.
If a client happens to have an illness with these characteristics, such as measles with high temperature, red face and delerium, Belladonna will be one remedy to be considered. It is a well-renowned remedy for being highly effective in treating common childhood fevers when the child has these symptoms.

I came to Homeopathy after a long period of illness.
I had consulted a number of doctors and been prescribed a variety of drugs – all of which were very common. However, more often than not, I reacted severely to these drugs and started experiencing other symptoms and illnesses. As well as my physical symptoms, my mental state began to deteriorate as I became more disillusioned, tired and depressed.
My consultation with Janene was incredibly enlightening and empowering. For the first time I felt that a health professional was interested and invested in me as an individual rather than an illness or collection of symptoms.
During my appointment Janene and I identified a remedy. This was not a standard remedy and needed to be prepared for me. My response to the remedy was almost immediate. One by one my symptoms presented themselves and then quickly disappeared. Within 3 days all my symptoms had gone. As well as my physical wellbeing my state of mind improved.
To date not one of the symptoms I suffered prior to taking my remedy has returned. My brief introduction to Homeopathy has radically improved my health and life.
The result 30 minutes after taking my remedy, one of the symptoms I had been complaining of appeared suddenly, 5 minutes later, it disappeared and has not returned. For the next 2 hours another symptom would present itself and then disappear. Finally, a problem that I had been experiencing for 15 years flared up for 2 days. On the morning of the third day after taking my remedy, the pain had disappeared completely. For the first time in 15 years, my back is pain free.
