The Benefits of Beauty Therapies

Beauty therapies have many benefits beyond helping you to look great and feel totally and utterly relaxed.  Many beauty therapies are well known for their relaxation benefits, such as a visit to the day spa, getting a treatment at a beauty salon, or smelling some gorgeous essential oils.  But did you know that the day spa is also able to treat muscular conditions, or improve your skin?  The beauty salon can help you to sort out those pesky skin problems such as acne or eczema, while aromatherapy is surprisingly versatile.  Aromatherapy can be used to relieve stress, improve colds, enhance your energy, and help with PMS, as well as much, much more.

Laser therapy is also a treatment with many applications – from ridding you of unsightly body hair to helping you let go of an addiction such as smoking.  Try a beauty therapy to calm your mind, improve the look and feel of your skin, and much more besides.


Aromatherapy is a therapy that uses essential oils, often through massage.  It is based on the belief that scents have the power to transform emotions and to heal the body.  The essential oils that are used in aromatherapy are taken from plants and herbs in order to treat a wide range of conditions.  Essential oils can contribute to or achieve many physiological and psychological effects.  The essential oils can be used by inhaling them (in a steam bath or oil burner for example), or by applying them to the skin, with a carrier oil.

Beauty Therapy

Beauty therapy involves the treatment of the hair, skin and nails in a salon environment.  Some standard treatments include facials, manicures, body hair removal, and hairdressing services.  Many beauty salons also offer holistic beauty therapy which may involve reflexology, body wraps, and different types of body massage.

Day Spas

Day spas provide the total pampering experience and renew the body, mind, and soul.  Most day spas will offer a variety of treatments, including but not limited to facials, massages, far infrared saunas, exfoliation and waxing.  As well as these services, day spas may also provide services such as acupuncture, ear candling, yoga, and hydrotherapy.  Day spas are not just about relaxing and refreshing you, they can also help with skin conditions, improve circulation, simulate cellular activity, and balance your skin.  Going to a day spa is truly a holistic treatment.

Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is becoming an ever more versatile therapy that can be used for a wide range of things – from laser acupuncture to hair removal and treating skin disorders and muscular conditions.  Laser acupuncture is an excellent alternative to those who dislike normal acupuncture because of the needles used, as the laser replaces the needles.  In every other way, the treatment is identical.  Laser hair removal is becoming increasingly popular as it is a permanent form of hair removal.  Usually three treatments at a minimum are required to permanently rid an area of hair.
