SERVICES
Below is a list of some of the issues I am able to help with: * Relationship problems * Couples in crisis * Family conflict facilitation/mediation * Depression and anxiety * Grief and loss * Anger related issues * Trauma and abuse * Detrimental repetitious behaviours * Personal development and understanding * Stress, work and career related issues The Process of Psychotherapy Often the first step towards talking about a problem is the hardest one to take. We can easily be discouraged by our doubts and fears about speaking openly with someone we have never met before. However, it is a courageous step to make but a positive one towards making some real change in your life. Psychotherapy can provide an opportunity to ask ourselves questions about the way we live our lives by deciphering our feelings/thoughts and the choices we make based on them. It helps individuals to examine patterns of behavior, thinking and relating (to ourselves and others) that may be non-constructive and actually causing us distress. Often such patterns have been formed in reaction to past experiences and having an awareness of these patterns and our motivations behind them, allows us to heal and move forward, promoting a greater sense within ourselves of freedom, purpose and fulfilment. I am a psychodynamically trained psychotherapist, which means that I view the relationship between myself and my clients as central to my understanding the client and their presenting issues. I seek to understand how clients may be motivated by unconscious forces, that at times seem beyond their control but that maybe proving detrimental to their lives, their well-being and their important relationships. I welcome your enquiry. Jay Morris MHSc Psychotherapy (Hons), Grad Dip Psych, BA Registered Psychotherapist MNZAP
