Welcome to Yoga Essence Centre
Yoga Essence Centre was founded by Marcia Leite with a vision to become a Centre for the study and promotion of yoga. Marcia has been practicing yoga for more than 13 years, is a qualified Hatha Yoga teacher, a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and a Certified Ayurveda Lifestyle Management Consultant. Marcia has the commitment to offer classes and workshops that inform students in yoga and inspire and encourage them to embrace yoga in their daily lives.

I began my yoga practice in 1996 but it was in 2000 that I found deeper meaning of yoga. Practising and studying yoga alone led me to study formally for a Diploma of Yoga at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies in 2004, followed by a Certificate of Ayurveda Lifestyle Management Consultancy in 2007, both recognized by NZQA.
During this time I also started to study Iyengar Yoga, a traditional system of teaching and practice of yoga recognized worldwide. I became a Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher in 2008 and have been teaching since 2004 on the North Shore and in Auckland.
My inspiration to study yoga and Ayurveda has taken me to many yoga workshops with senior teachers from New Zealand, Australia, India and Brazil. I have travelled to India twice, in 2006 and 2008, for a deeper understanding of yoga and I will return there in the future.
My background and passion for yoga, allied with my knowledge and experience of ayurveda, gives me the confidence to create the Yoga Essence Centre in order to encourage the practice of yoga as not only a physical practice, but also as a philosophy of life.
Sofia, my daughter, 7 years young, is a very important part of that journey.

Your first class at the Yoga Essence Centre is FREE, till 31 March 2010 :)
Standard Rates
Casual class - $ 18.00
5 classes concession card – $ 80.00
10 classes concession card – $ 150.00
Student card/Community Services card/ Seniors
Casual class $ 14.00 (flat fee)
5 classes concession card – $ 50.00 (expires after 5 weeks)
10 classes concession card – $ 120.00 (expires after 3 months)
Memberships
3 months membership: $ 450.00 (automatic payment of $ 140.00/month)*
6 months membership : $ 750.00 (automatic payment of $ 125.00/month)*
*Memberships include unlimited free classes (day and night) + use of the centre for self practice at time to be aggreed with Marcia.
