Mindfulness for Stress & Anxiety Stress and anxiety can be very distressing, and can also make it hard for us to enjoy the good things in our lives. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) DBT could help you if you’re a person who has painful emotions that may feel overwhelming or impossible to manage in a healthy ways. You may have tried other styles of therapy and counselling that also ended up feeling overwhelming, or just didn’t teach the right skills for finding emotional balance. Some of those who could benefit from DBT may have been diagnosed with (the terribly named) borderline personality disorder. DBT is the form of therapy with the most evidence for effectively helping people with this diagnosis, but has also been shown to be highly effective in helping with depression, anxiety, trauma, or addictions.
