Synchronicity

Have you ever experienced a coincidence that seemed to be completely unbelievable, such as thinking of someone only to have them call at that exact moment?  This is called synchronicity.  By becoming aware of synchronicity and learning from it, you can become more aware of your life and what you need.  It is a way of creating a higher consciousness. Read on to learn more.

What is Synchronicity?

Synchronicity is a term that was originally created by Carl Jung in order to describe the meaningful coincidences in one’s life.  The concept of synchronicity can be difficult to understand, so it is best explained using examples.  One example of synchronicity is thinking of a friend and receiving a call from them at the time that you are thinking of them.  Another is being in an unfamiliar place, and bumping into someone you haven’t seen in a long time.  It is essentially an uncanny coincidence, an unlikely event that occurs.

According to Carl Jung, synchronicity can provide a glimpse into the underlying order of the universe.  This connectedness manifests itself through meaningful coincidences that cannot be simply explained away using cause and effect.  Synchronicity occurs when there is a strong need in the person.  You can think of synchronicity as the universe’s way of trying to give you guidance in your life.  If you are having trouble understanding it, think of all matter and energy as being interconnected.  One part of this web will affect another; therefore even events that seem totally unrelated are actually interconnected.  Synchronicities are designed to help you evolve to a higher consciousness.

Learning to Experience Synchronicity

When you are aware of synchronicity you can begin to find out the deeper meanings behind it, if there is one.  Ask yourself questions, such as what symbols are found in the synchronicity, what they mean, and how you feel about it.  Because you are constantly interacting with your consciousness, some synchronicities will have more meaning than others.  Generally, you can tell how important a given synchronicity is by the way that you react to it both emotionally and physically.

Try to allow yourself to experience intuition – that feeling of knowing when something is right.  By listening to your intuition, you can become more open to synchronicity and synchronous events.  If you expect the unexpected, then synchronicity will start to become more apparent.  Become more interested in synchronicity.  It seems that the more interested a person is, the more open they become, and the more synchronicity occurs.  Being open means that you will notice the synchronicity when it occurs.  Try not to be too cynical or doubtful as this can dampen synchronicity.

Remember that synchronicity is not always obvious.  Often, it is subtle, and you will need practice to both notice and understand them.
