Deafness and Hearing Problems

Deafness and hearing problems most commonly occur in the elderly, but these difficulties can occur at any age if genetic predispositions or adverse environmental exposures are triggered or occur. The range of hearing loss includes presbycusis, tinnitus (ringing or other sounds in the ear), conductive hearing loss and sensorineural hearing loss. Conventional treatments include hearing aids, cochlear implants, medication or surgery, while alternative ways to manage span from homoeopathy to acupuncture to nutritional therapy to herbal therapy.
