Peptic Ulcers

Peptic ulcers are non-malignant ulcers of the stomach or duodenum. Bacteria have been found to be the main cause of these ulcers; however, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the second most common cause. Symptoms of peptic ulcers include a burning pain in the upper abdomen, weight loss, a loss of appetite, pain while eating, nausea, and vomiting. Treatment options include medication/antibiotics, surgery, not using NSAIDs, quitting smoking, dietary changes, herbal remedies, homoeopathy, and acupuncture.
