Migraines, chronic pain, insomnia? Have you been living with pain, possibly for years, and want to live life normally? CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a drug-free treatment that helps you to live the life you want with nil or less pain. Drugs might treat the symptoms of your pain but they don’t usually fix the source of your problem. CST provides long term pain relief that lasts because it treats the actual problem. Get your life back and join the migraine sufferers, sports stars, concussion patients and more who have been successfully treated. Call Gill Redden Cranio for more information on how CST can help you and to book an appointment today. What are you waiting for? CranioSacral Therapy .................................................................... What is CranioSacral Therapy? CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. It was pioneered and developed by Doctor and Osteopath John E. Upledger after years of clinical testing and research at Michigan State University where he served as Professor of biomechanics. Using soft touch with their hands, practitioners release restrictions in the cranial bones and other vertebrae so that they can move more freely, as well as the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system around the skull, spine and down to the sacrum. Patients remain fully clothed during the treatment. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease. It is also highly effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. .................................................................... How does it work? Few structures have as much influence over the body’s ability to function properly as the brain and spinal cord that make up the central nervous system. And, the central nervous system is heavily influenced by the craniosacral system – the membranes and fluid that surround, protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord. Every day your body endures stresses and strains. It must work to compensate for these. Unfortunately, any imbalance or dysfunction can cause body tissues to tighten and distort the craniosacral system. These distortions cause tension to form around the brain and spinal cord, resulting in restrictions. This can create a barrier to the healthy performance of the central nervous system, and potentially every other system it interacts with. Fortunately, such restrictions can be detected and corrected using simple methods of touch. With a light touch, CST practitioners use their hands to evaluate the craniosacral system by gently feeling various locations of the body to test for the ease of motion and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid pulsing around the brain and spinal cord. Soft-touch techniques are then used to release restrictions in any tissues influencing the craniosacral system. By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord and enhancing the body’s ability to self-correct, CranioSacral Therapy is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions, from chronic pain and sports injuries to stroke and neurological impairment. .................................................................... What conditions does CranioSacral Therapy help? CST is a gentle treatment that is suitable for all types of people including men and women, children, teenagers, new born babies, pregnant women and older people. CST can help people with:

.................................................................... What to expect at your appointment A CranioSacral Therapy (CST) treatment involves lying fully clothed with your shoes off, on a professional table. A practitioner will lightly place his/her hands on your head, back, chest, pelvis and feet or other places where they feel restrictions. A regular CST session lasts approximately 60 minutes. The initial session takes about 1.5 hours and includes a consultation and discussion before the treatment is performed. You will be asked to complete a registration form and the practitioner will ask you questions about your health and lifestyle to gain a better understanding of what may be affecting your health. The practitioner will show you some useful activities you can do yourself from home. Next they will discuss how CST works and then they will perform the treatment. During the treatment you will probably notice that you feel deeply relaxed and you may feel pulsating, tingling and hot or cold sensations. Many people fall asleep during the treatment. After the session you may feel either very relaxed or energized. You may notice the effects of your treatment straight away or over the next few days. There can be an improvement in your minor ailments first before it helps your main condition. The number of sessions required varies from person to person and the source of your condition. Gill has an excellent track record and Doctors are referring to Gill because many people have such a huge improvement within five treatments. The practitioner will discuss your requirements at your appointment. It is recommended that you drink 6-8 glasses of water per day. CST is a drug-free treatment that can give relief from conditions that regular medicine cannot treat very well. CST is intended to complement and not replace your medical practitioner. Please consult your doctor if you have or suspect you have a serious health problem.
