Study osteopathy at Unitec
Unitec offers two osteopathy programmes:
Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology)
Unitec offers a three-year Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) degree that studies current medical and scientific knowledge in terms of the holistic principles and philosophy of osteopathy.
Once the Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) degree is completed, students can then move on to the two-year Master of Osteopathy degree. Successful completion of that programme is required for registration by the New Zealand Registry of Osteopaths and to enter practice in New Zealand.
Master of Osteopathy
The Master of Osteopathy is a two-year, full-time programme. It develops the capabilities, skills and attributes of osteopathic practitioners, and has been designed with professional and regulatory osteopathic requirements in mind. There is a strong emphasis on research, and you are encouraged to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the osteopathy field. On successful completion of the programme, you are eligible to apply for Registered Osteopathic status in New Zealand.
