It's your time to leave your worries behind! Shiatsu Massage
  • It's massage without the oil's.
  • It's acupuncture without the needles.
  • It's the healing art without hocus pocus.
  • It's like a whole nights rest.
  • It's Japanese accupressure technique called Shiatsu. "Shiatsu, which means "finger pressure", uses the pressure not just of the fingers, but the thumbs, palms, elbows, knees and feet to massage key meridians or energy channels in the body, releasing tension and stimulating the system. And it feels great! Your limbs are gently rotated and stretched, and palm and finger pressure releases muscular tension. Best of all, Japanese modesty requires that you keep your clothes on! Says Auckland therapist Anne Moller People report feeling "dead" when they walk in and energised when they walk out >> Read more about the philosophy underlying Shiatsu Services Shiatsu Massage: Like a whole nights rest! Just give me 60 minutes and we'll replace the tightness and pain in your neck with a totally relaxed re-energised body. Includes foot and hand massage. 60 minutes $65 - $75 What to expect in a shiatsu session Each standard session lasts approximately one rejuvenating hour. The session usually takes place on a padded mat or futon at floor level, although it is possible to receive Shiatsu sitting on a chair if you are unable to lie down. You will remain clothed during the entire session. Following a treatment, there is usually a feeling of increased vitality and you may feel invigorated yet relaxed. Guidelines for receiving Shiatsu
  • Please bring or wear loose, warm, comfortable clothing, preferably cotton, e.g. sweatshirt, tracksuit trousers and cotton socks.
  • Do not eat heavily in the two hours prior to treatment.
  • Do not drink alcohol before or after treatment.
  • After treatment drink plenty of water to smooth the flow of changes through the system.
  • For full benefit try to avoid strenuous or stressful activities directly after your session. What our clients say My very first Shiatsu with Anne 10 years ago had me hooked! Having previously had a lot of traditional massage prior to treat a neck injury, Shiatsu was a revelation. It has been a much more effective form of treatment, relieving pain, tension and inducing a very deep relaxed state "like a whole nights rest". I often refer to Anne and her "healing touch". During this time I have also had the privilege of getting to know Anne on a personal level. Her warmth, kindness and intelligence are just some of the many things that make a treatment with Anne a wholistic experience. I can't recommend her enough! Kath Knight
Over the last few years work stress began to negatively affect my body and interfere with my ability to think clearly. Having experimented with a range of therapies I found Shiatsu worked best for me. With regular sessions I experience a feeling of fitness and wellbeing, and no longer experience tightness and pain in my back. Best of all I am now able to play golf and my back, pretty much, remains pain free!! With regular shiatsu sessions I am also more able to work through prolonged stressful situations. Simon Kirk
A Gentle Tune up! Shiatsu really brings my energy levels up and helps me feel positive about life… After my shiatsu everything feels right with the world. Regular shiatsu helps alleviate the arthritic pain in my knee, keeps me supple and, I feel, improves my circulation and digestion. Having a regular shiatsu treatment leaves me feeling rested and makes me feel more able to cope with changing family dynamics. Peggy Herbert
