SERVICES
I have been working as a complementary therapist since 2000 and have practiced in Ireland, London, Edinburgh and more recently Wellington. I often use a combination of Chinese medicine and Reflexology in my work depending on what each person needs. Chinese Medicine Chinese Medicine is a rich, well developed and very ancient medical system. It's much more powerful than most people realize. The common idea that CM is only good for pain relief is very limiting, and fails to give people access to the rest of the iceberg! Acupuncture Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific sites (acupuncture points) along the body's meridians to clear energy blockages and encourage the normal flow of Qi or energy through the individual. Points may also be stimulated using other methods, including moxibustion, cupping, laser therapy, electro-stimulation and massage, in order to re-establish the flow of Qi Alice also offers Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. Also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture is a virtually painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process for more information on this please visit her website on www.facialrejuvenation.co.nz Chinese Medicine for Children As a former child-carer I love working with children and find they respond very well to Chinese medicine. I use a needle free method called sho ni shin which makes use of small metal tools designed specifically for children, which stimulate the channels and acupuncture points without penetrating and breaking the skin This can help with a wide range of disorders such as Eczema, Asthma, Night terrors or just to improve a weak constitution . Reflexology Reflexology is an ancient form of healing – it can be traced back to ancient Chinese and Egyptian cultures. Reflexologists view the feet and hands as a mirror image of the body. By massaging points on these areas a reflexologist can break up patterns of stress in other parts of the body Although there are similarities between reflexology, acupressure and acupuncture, reflexology is a distinct therapy and has its own specific theory and manipulation techniques. Reflexology can be used purely for relaxation however it has a valuable role to play in supporting health and wellbeing
