What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy? Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a hands-on body therapy which does not use manipulation. Therapists are trained to perceive naturally occurring movements in bones, tissues and fluids. These movements are common to everyone and are seen as an expression of health. Physical and emotional trauma as well as stress and illness alter these movements and can be felt as contractions and patterns of restriction by the therapist. Ideally our innate body intelligence would be able to release and reorganize these contractions and patterns and we would enjoy an immediate return to health. However, due to stress and overwhelm, sometimes the body needs a little help. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy offers a way to connect with the body’s natural wisdom and to facilitate change. What happens in a session? Treatment is generally carried out sitting or lying fully clothed on a treatment table. The practitioner will make contact with the body using a very light touch. Although each client and session is unique, some common experiences are; - noticing small movements and adjustments - the release of stored energy as heat - the release of stored shock as coldness - emotional release - deep relaxation - sleep - a feeling of calm and stillness Craniosacral therapy has the capacity to lead to deep and permanent change; an improvement of symptoms and also a change in constitutional health. What are the benefits of Craniosacral Therapy? After a series of treatments clients may experience - more energy and resilience - an improvement in symptoms - less emotional and physical pain - deep relaxation - an increase in vitality and well-being - calmness and peace - more mental clarity - a renewed sense of direction and purpose - awareness of unhelpful behavioural patterns Practitioner Profile - Danielle Rowarth After enjoying the benefits of hugely improved health from receiving Biodynamic CST, I decided to train as a therapist.
