SERVICES

Welcome to Auckland City Therapy Auckland City Therapy Ltd is a privately owned company specialising in counselling and psychotherapy for individual men and women, as well as marriage and relationship counselling for couples. People choose counselling or psychotherapy for different reasons. You might recognise the same difficult pattern happening over and over again in your life. Or maybe you keep hitting the same roadblock in your relationships. Perhaps a problem or concern that has been sitting quietly in the background has grown and now it seems difficult to think about anything else. It could just be that something has happened that feels too big to manage alone. Whatever your reason, life can sometimes prove challenging and there might come a time when you decide you want things to be different. We understand that making your first contact with a counsellor or psychotherapist can sometimes feel quite daunting. Facing up to life's challenges is not always easy and it is important to find a therapist who you feel comfortable with and that seems right for you. It might be helpful to ask some questions before your first meeting, so please feel free to contact each therapist directly or use our online form. Our approach to both counselling and psychotherapy aims at helping people increase their understanding of themselves. When we have clearer self-understanding we feel less at the mercy of the world and can cope with life more effectively. We can begin to understand our feelings and our behaviours as they become more familiar to us, and we are therefore more able to manage our responses and reactions. People that come for psychotherapy or counselling often have concerns such as:
  • depression
  • grief
  • stress or anxiety
  • relationship problems
  • self esteem concerns
  • addictive behaviours
  • anger management
  • sexual identity
  • coping with chronic illness
  • struggling with life changes
