Welcome to TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) College of New Zealand Traditional Chinese Medicine is a holistic system of healing which has diagnosed, treated, and prevented illness for at least 3000 years. Traditional Chinese Medicine is now widely used in Europe and America and is becoming increasingly popular around the world. This is leading to a growing need for qualified practitioners. Traditional Chinese Medicine College of New Zealand is an institute registered and accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) as a private education provider. We are committed to providing training of the highest quality in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The focus of TCM is to maintain health and prevent disease, using a wide range of natural interventions carefully designed to support the balanced functioning of the individual. Rather than treating symptoms, it s the physiological imbalances underlying the manifestation of disease that are diagnosed and remedied. Traditional Chinese Medicine College of New Zealand offers an executive level TCM qualification that reflects a high level of academic and service excellence. Finding a balance between theory and practice is a strong characteristic of the programme and is reflected in our faculty members who represent both the academic and TCM practitioner environments. The courses provided by TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) College of New Zealand cover the philosophy, concepts and a number of therapies taken from the system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), including Acupuncture, Tuina, Qi Gong and Chinese Herbal Medicine and they offer a holistic approach to health care. The programmes also cover the latest research and debates in the use of complementary medicine and its value in society. The lecturers in our school are from China, Korea and Western countries. Student Comments (TCM 3)- Kevin "Hi, I'm Kevin. Our School has a great medical missionary programme. After you graduate you will be an acupuncturist & herbalist and through this programme go to different countries in Africa, the Pacific and Europe to practice TCM. "I am pleased to say that we really focus on our medical missionary service which we can commence while we study on trips during our term breaks to other countries where we can treat others and teach them the wonders of TCM. The medical mission trips I have already taken to Fiji, Vanuatu and Cambodia has enabled me to practice with many patients and also to get to know other cultures, and transmit to others the benefits of TCM. "Though our school has a short tradition, I feel confident that the professionalism behind the work that is done will enable us to be at the forefront of TCM treatments around the world." - Kevin (TCM 2)- James "Hello I'm James and I am in year 2 at the TCM College of NZ. I would like to share my feelings in regards to my first year at TCM. It was a challenging and frightening time for me as I am an older student and it is a bigger challenge which requires greater courage to study in another country. "Also, I had to learn English apart from TCM in my first year, and it was my concern if I could really study both. After a year all my fears have disappeared and I feel confident and proud of what I have achieved at the TCM College of NZ and I feel very confident about my future here at the school. "I think I have significantly improved my English Skills and learned a great deal of TCM in just one year. Though all lectures are in English I am very proud to be able to follow the lectures easily. I might have been frighten at the begining but i can now see my results and it has all been worth it. "The school and the atmosphere we study in, the lectures, clinic and the medical mission trips are a constant motivation to suceed in our studies in TCM, definitely the TCM College has been much more than I had imagined. I really feel that the atmosphere in which we study is unique and it creates a learning environment where we, the students, can only excel." - James
