SERVICES
I work with people from all walks of life, who want to reflect on what is happening in their life. People come to work with me because of anxiety or depression, to talk through grief, or to find out what is holding them back from living fully and freely.
Personal growth and development goes on throughout our lives, and many people find it helpful at some time or other to talk things over with another person who has no other connection with them. Some people know exactly what they want to talk about, and have quite specific goals, while for others the difficulties may not be so easily definable.
Counselling can be useful in not just alleviating the symptoms but also understanding the underlying causes of emotional pain such as depression and anxiety. It can also be very helpful to talk to a counselor if you are struggling to come to terms with a significant loss in your life. While no-one can change what has happened, therapy can offer a space just for you, where your need to talk about your loved one and understand what this loss means for you can be recognised and responded to.
Things that seem overwhelming alone can become bearable when we are not on our own. Therapy offers a place to process pain and to understand and change patterns of relating that may have served well enough in the past, but are no longer adequate.

QUALIFICATION DETAILS
I am an Interim Registered Psychotherapist, a Provisional Member NZAP(New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists) and an Associate Member of ANZPA (Australian and New Zealand Psychodrama Association). I also hold a BSc and PhD in Science.
