Trying to talk about things that are private, upsetting, and unformed can feel difficult and risky, and often a therapist can be just the right person to talk to.

SERVICES

Welcome to Alisa Hirschfeld Psychotherapist
How psychotherapy can help? Psychotherapy is concerned with the whole person: his or her life history, past and present relationships and conscious and unconscious processes. Through the relationship with the therapist there emerges the possibility for self discovery, change and growth. Length of treatment may vary from a few sessions to an open ended contract. Psychotherapy can be helpful for those who:
  • Have difficulty in their relationships
  • Feel depressed
  • Have anxiety and panic attacks
  • Experience sexual problems
  • Have difficulty in coping with bereavement and loss
  • Have physical symptoms as a result of emotional stress
  • Have difficulties in their working life.
I Offer :
  • A secure professional relationship through which difficulties can be identified, confronted and resolved in the privacy of regular, reliable sessions.
  • A way to see, make sense of, and impact upon long-standing patterns of thinking and behaviour.
  • A chance to discover that you have choices where previously you appeared to have none.
  • Help to explore and manage thoughts and feelings which may seem overwhelming , frightening or confusing.
  • The opportunity to work through old hurts and conflicts to enable you to move on.

Making an appointment To book an appointment please telephone (04) 4758531 or email me at alisa.hirschfeld@hotmail.com. If you reach my answer phone please do leave a message - I will always return your call on the same day, or if late at night, the next morning. I assure complete discretion when I return your call and will not leave a message on your answer phone unless it is a voicemail in the same name as the name you have given me. What happens next? We will arrange a time and date for an initial assessment session. This will last for around an hour and is a chance for you to begin to describe your situation, for me to assess if psychotherapy is a suitable option and for us to discuss this together. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions you may have. Attending an initial assessment session places you under no further obligation to attend any further sessions, but you will be offered further sessions if appropriate. Frequency of sessions is negotiated to meet individual needs. Sessions are scheduled at the same time each week, and last for fifty minutes.
