Peters’ sessions include the use of neuro-muscular techniques, myofascial release, hot rocks, joint mobilization, muscle stretching, trigger point release and body pulsing to enhance the effectiveness of traditional Swedish remedial massage. By tailoring your treatment to address the root cause of your pain and/or restricted range of movement, Peter will help you to work towards increased mobility and flexibility, muscle relaxation, fuller deeper breathing, reduction in anxiety and stress levels, decreased pain, improved sleep and digestion and a general sense of wellbeing. People with chronic pain issues including headache, injury rehabilitation, OOS, neck, shoulder and lower back pain will also benefit from this type of treatment.
Therapies Relaxation/Stress Relief Massage This massage is a smooth, gentle style of massage designed to aid circulation, range of movement, relieve minor muscle pain and promote overall relaxation to body and mind. DeepTissue This massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. Deep tissue massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetition motions, and past lingering injuries. Trigger Point "Trigger points" are areas of tension commonly known as "knots". They occur in the belly of the muscle tissue and build up due to physical, mental and emotional stress. During the session, pressure is applied to the area, within the comfort level of the client. This process is very effective, lasting and profoundly transformative. Sports Massage This massage is designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Sports massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping prevent injury. It increases flexibility, relaxes the mind and dramatically improves recovery rate. Pregnancy Massage Pregnancy is a time in which a womans body endures tremendous stress. Pregnancy massage helps alleviate discomfort that is experienced. The benefits are profound and include emotional support, the reduction of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance and improving breathing and relaxation. Myofascial Release Poor posture, physical injury, illness & emotional stress can throw the body out of alignment and cause the intricate web of fascia to become tight and constricted. Myofascial release is a gentle blend of massage and stretching, uses hands-on manipulation of the entire body to promote healing, release and pain relief. Neuromuscular Therapy techniques NMT differs from regular relaxation massage because it not only deals with muscles, ligaments and soft tissues of the body, but also with the nervous system. Hence the term neuromuscluar "which literally means, relating to or affecting both nerves and muscles. Hot Stones Massage Hot stones massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth heated stones. The heat is both deeply relaxing andcomforting, enabling the body to totally relax in its warmth. ( A great winter massage) Benefits of this massage include deep tissue muscle relaxation, alleviating stress, releasing toxins, and improving circulation. It is also a very enjoyable massage to receive, leaving the body tingling, warm and relaxed. Holistic Pulsing Massage Through soft rotary movements and rhythmic rocking of all parts of the body pulsing compliments deep tissue and relaxation massage by gently releasing tense tissues and tight joints, powerfully yet softly affecting the whole body-mind-spirit. Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage Transport yourself for an hour to Hawaii and experience this amazing massage. Described as a 'sea of sensation' with its long sweeping motions using hands and forearms, under and over body strokes, and gentle stretches. Done with the Aloha spirit, this is a very nurturing, sacred spiritual massage, leaving you in a state of bliss and peace. Massage for Two (Couples massage) Couples massage refers to a massage session in which a couple (partners, mother daughter, friends) experience either deep tissue or relaxation massage by two different therapists simutaneously. A wonderful gift to give to a couple that have just got married. A great way to relax together. Benefits of Reiki Reiki calms, It reduces stress, provides deep relaxation comfort and peace. Reiki offers relief during emotional distress & sorrow and it also helps in the grieving process. Regular Reiki treatments can bring about a calmer and more peaceful state of being in which will enable you to cope better with everyday life. Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) The Lymphatic system is our front line of defence in fighting bodily infections, detoxifying the body and transporting metabolic wastes, excess water, bacteria and toxins out of the body. At times when we are prone to sore throats, colds, infections, on-going tiredness, excess fluids, low immunity, swollen nodes & also if we become physically inactive, Manual Lympahtic drainage will help restore balance back into your body. MLD technique is a very light gently touch, where your body goes into healing and resting. Having regular massages, exercising regularly, breathing deeply from the belly, drinking lots of water, and eating healthy, will promote a healthy lymphatic system.
