Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is now a widespread method of treatment in hospitals, clinics and medical schools worldwide. In Japan, LLLT has been incorporated into medical health insurance schemes since 1987. This technology holds great potential for recuperating human (and animal) homeostasis = health. New Zealand has been slow to recognise the potential advantages of this life-enhancing therapy. Now, this benign treatment is available in some clinics in New Zealand. Patients report no invasion, no pain, no noise - the treatment is safe, gentle and effective. While all lasers use the controlled energy of light, Low Level Lasers differ from industrial or surgical lasrs because they are gentle, and use energy frequencies so low that they are not felt. The light prcduced is a-thermal (neither hot nor cold) while the energy generated by the laser is greater than that of a candle, but lower than that from a household light bulb Low Energy Lasers are popular because of they generate and deliver steady concentrated light to traumatised tissues of the body, bringing energy to areas deprived of blood circulation - where healing has been slow (or ceased because of toxic overload = illness). The introduction of the controlled frequency of laser light energises cell mitochondria. The mitochondria are bio-stimulated (energised) into the production of adenosine tn-phosphate (ATP). ATP is then available as biological energy - you feel better! Low Level Lasers can penetrate (send in light waves) up to 12 centimetres into bodily tissue, thus enabling non-invasive healing of some larger organs in the body. The process cannot be felt, and does not interfere with any medications. But you may find that you can reduce or even cease taking pharmaceutical drugs after a few treatments. This is a matter of age and personal experience - in consultation with your regular health practitioner. Damaged cells of bone structure, torn tendon, and other inflamed tissues respond to the light (photons) and speed up their natural process of healing. All the cells in the body welcome and accept this assistance back to the homeostasis - good health! Low Level laser treatment is well researched, and many double blind studies have shown that recovery with the help of LLLT can be ten times quicker than with the use of traditional methods alone. The technology works to regain and enhance health in co-operation with traditional medicine and, in some cases, may even supersede ‘traditional’ methods. A good example of the ability of the LLLT to change the face of medicine is in recovery from chronic leg ulcers. These are lesions on the outside surface of the body that will not heal. With the use of LLLT, the patient will see the changes in tissue health almost immediately. Remember that LLLT is simply redirected light, NOT HEAT! There is no pain. During a course of LLLT there should be an emphasis on sound balanced nutrition, adequate rest, and adequate water intake to provide the necessary building blocks for repair, healing, and eventual recovery. The duration of treatment will depend on what is wrong - illness, malfunction or injury status etc. - and what the underlying causes may be.
TESTIMONIALS
"Our entire family of five have benefited from Mary's laser therapy regularly since 2001. She has helped heal a huge range of injuries from back, shoulder, knee and calf injuries to tennis elbow, golfers elbow and shin splints. We keep coming back as it works." -- Chris and Derek Daniell
"A newspaper article on how Laser Therapy had been used to relieve pain and promote healing in Kashin, the Auckland Zoo Elephant, encouraged me firstly to conform the accuracy if the information from Kashin's keeper and then to contact Mary Needham. Based on the premise that elephants are less inclined to pseudo-responses and expectations, I hoped that Mary's laser therapy would reduce my facial nerve pain which had only been minimally responsive to medically prescribed drugs. The pain was reduced to almost nothing after three treatments. I am amazed and grateful. I am a private person but I have no hesitation in stating the facts of my treatment, if it will benefit others" -- Trudy Havard
"I have had peroids of persistent pain in my neck from an injury received over 30 years ago. I tried Mary's laser treatment during a period of DIY when I was busy painting and moving house. My neck pain was a high level with restricted movement. After laser treatment and along with the aid of a wheat sack during periods of increased pain at the end of a busy day, I noticed a definite decrease in pain level and a quicker return to normal function. I was also able to reduce medication. I would definitely have this treatment again as necessary. " -- Alison Buchanan, registered nurse
