About Us

Since the changeover in July 2016, the directors, Sue Wilson and Richard Janssen have been working hard to make Northlands Healthcare an even better place to work and visit than it was before. The clinic was established in 1995 and was previously known as Northlands Medical and Sportscare.

A message from the directors, Sue and Richard:

Massage Therapy

We focus on sports massage, deep tissue massage and medical massage for chronic pain. The key to your pain relief is our careful assessment and treatment of its cause.

Whether you have back pain, shoulder pain or hip pain Therapeutic Massage can help you.

Massage treatment is not painful and gentle therapeutic is not exceeded. As treatment progresses clients can also receive guidance and advice on self-treatment techniques, progressive functional core exercises and stretching to remain pain free.

Appointments are 60 minutes, 45 minutes or 30 minutes.

Physiotherapy

Our  team at Northlands Medical Sports Care has a wealth of experience both overseas and in Christchurch. Covering a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and also general and older persons health.

As our name suggests we not only cover medical and sports condition injuries, but work, home and surgical injuries too!

Chiropractic 

Chiropractic is a primary health care profession that deals with a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders. All functions of the body are controlled by the nervous system. This system consists of the brain, spinal cord, nerve roots and all of the nerves in your body. These delicate structures are protected by the skull, vertebral column and pelvis.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is suitable for babies, children, adults and senior citizens.

Richard is available to treat all ages with the gentle, holistic modality of osteopathy.

Podiatry

Podiatry is a discipline with focuses on the function of the foot and lower extremity and specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of foot related conditions. It is an important component of our team approach to sports medicine as many injuries result from, or do not resolve because of foot alignment problems.

Specialising in foot problems our Podiatrists can evaluate, diagnose and help alleviate any general foot, ankle or knee pain.

With specialised care we also prepare and customise orthotics, advise you on new sports shoe recommendations, and, using high tech equipment, look at the way you run or walk to ensure your feet are performing to their optimum.
