SERVICES

Welcome to Active Physio Locations

The first Active Physio centre opened in Auckland, New Zealand in 1995. Today, there are Active Physio clinics across Auckland city and in Northland, with plans for growth in the future. Each centre has professional, highly qualified and experienced physiotherapists with interests in specialised physiotherapy. Active Physio patients whose therapy requires them to exercise in a gymnasium and/or a swimming pool have access to state-of-the-art, modern facilities.

Staff Profiles

Luke Barnard BHSc (Physiotherapy); Dip Teaching; BEd Luke, who was primary teaching for 7 years before graduating as a Physio from AUT in 2005, is a very busy guy. When he's not taking spin classes at Club Physical Albany he's involved with Masters Swimming at the North Shore Club, or co-ordinating a community fun-run. His areas of particular expertise are in sports physiotherapy, exercise prescription and joint manipulation techniques. He has been very involved with Dilworth School providing on site clinical sessions as well as coaching and supporting the First IV. Luke has a keen interest in sports physiotherapy and manipulative therapies and would like to pursue further study in these areas as well as acupuncture. Luke has just taken ownership of the Greenwood medical centre practice and we're sure he will apply the same energy and commitment in this new role. Renu Cormack Having done a pre - med year Renu entered the Otago School of Physiotherapy to graduate 1987. Since then she has had extensive experience in private practice. She joined the Active Physio team in 2002. She has achieved post graduate qualifications in acupuncture and manual therapy. Her approach is hands on and while she enjoys the diversity of conditions and people seen at Greenwoods she does have a special interest in sport injuries and women's health such as ante natal and post natal problems. She also enjoys the practice alongside the GPs and Specialists as part of the Greenwood Medical Centre. Renu is a busy mother of 2 and keeps fit by cycling, running and attending the gym. She is also an awesome cook and baker which means she has to keep cycling, running and attending the gym.
