About Neil

A lecturer once said that if someone answers x, Neil would answer 3x2. But since the days as a hard working chemical engineering student 10 years ago, he has learnt the art of taking the complex, and whittling it down into easy-to-understand concepts for clients. Problem solving is his forte and is a useful talent as clients’ concerns become more intricate nowadays. Clients are looking for well-rounded practitioners to take a holistic view on life. People are under more pressure, have more commitments, attempt to shrug off growing aches and pains, try and avoid medications, all whilst fending off underlying anxieties around work, family, money and the future. It all becomes a bit 3x2. “Neil can take all your concerns and sketch out a simple way forward.” Neil grew up in Johannesburg and emigrated to NZ in 2002. Understanding what it takes to start over and build things from the ground up, he saw a business opportunity in Spinewave Wellness Centre and did a “Gordon Ramsay” on the practice 3 years ago to turn it into the centre it is today: A family wellness practice, with special interest in the weird and wonderful from autism to epilepsy. Neil has a side career in public speaking, lecturing to corporates and small personal development groups on well being and consciousness. In his spare time he likes to read, write, lift weights, play computer games (one of the best things you can do for your brain according to neurosurgeons) and be thrown around in the dojo at aikido. Neil did JKA karate for 10 years in South Africa and has practised aikido in NZ for 8. Aikido means “the way of harmony” and is a functional philosophy for approaching life’s challenges. These skills and more he blends into chiropractic practice to deliver a premium service.
