Welcome to Augustina Driessen ChildPsychotherapist Augustina Driessen, child psychotherapist, attended a practicum in Munich, Germany with one of the worlds leading experts on ‘attachment’, Dr Karl-Heinz Brisch. Upon her return to New Zealand, Augustina inspired a group of professionals who then attended workshops run by Dr Brisch in N.Z. Workshops are attended by parents, educators, social workers, counsellors, psychologists and psychotherapists. Our Vision
  • Teach the importance of attachments (emotional bonds) between parents and infants by way of education through monthly workshops
  • provjde availability for ongoing counselling
  • Educate support and supervise facilitators of SAFE ATTACHMENT
  • provide training programmes Support parents in developing emotionally healthy, balanced children
  • Educate parents/caregivers in awareness of issues of sensitivity, empathy, secure base, modelling of availability We pursue these aims through:
  • Training of educators and parents
  • peer supervision
  • Debrjefing
  • Regular meetings and ongoing support
  • Hotline We need pregnant parents at 20-25 weeks , to attend the course in Tauranga. The course is four days before birth, monthly 6 full days after birth, between 1 month and 12 months This is to enhance the attachment between parents and baby. Some theory and practical applications. Cost $25.- per couple and $15 per session for a single parent. If not able to pay, this can be discussed.
