Counselling services for women, men, couples, families and children
A 24/7 Crisis Intervention Service for sexual assault and/or sexual abuse (acute and historical)
Welcome to Counselling Services Centre
Counselling Services Centre was set up in 1986 as South Auckland HELP Foundation, delivering both Counselling and Crisis Support Services.
In 1998 we became a registered Charitable Trust before changing our name in 1992 to Counselling Services Centre due to the expanding needs of the South Auckland Community.
The organization was established to deal specifically with victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault.
Our service has now been broadened to include services to those whose lives are affected by:
- Domestic Violence
- Homicide and/or Suicide
- Relationship Difficulties
- Grief
- Addiction
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Stress
There are two parts to our Agency: Counselling and Crisis Intervention
Our Crisis Intervention Team consists of a group of 8 women, all of whom are either Counsellors or Social Workers or other professionals in the field of Social Services. They provide a 24 hour, 7 day per week service responding to calls from the Police and Hospitals to provide immediate assistance to men, women, and children aged 13 years or older, who have been sexually assaulted. The Team attends medical examinations and police statement taking with victims, and provides phone and face to face follow ups and organizes counselling.
