Remedial massage Under many daily stresses of life our skeletal muscles often respond by tightening-up, this is in turn affects our skeletal structure by pulling it out of alignment. These muscles often remain contracted, reducing their efficiency. Remedial Massage is a way of helping to prevent this response, by inducing a state of relaxation, which eases the tension out of the body, assisting with the relaxation of the specific contracted muscles, allowing pain-free skeletal balance. It is a tool of health promotion as well as assisting in regaining optimal health. This state of body alignment allows our various body systems to function optimally. Techniques used are the same that of [Sports Massage], including Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation combined movement releases (PNF stretching), Regional fascia release and [Myofascial release] techniques, Skin Rolling, Isolytic contractions, Directional releases and Muscle energy techniques. Goals of Treatment / Injury Prevention
Perfect structural alignment Perfect functional balance Chronic pain relief Total absence of soft tissue lesions Educate if concerned – the client, athlete or coach.

Thai BodyWork One of the newest forms of healing to reach the West, Thai Bodywork (also known as Thai massage), is a richly rewarding, holistic therapy that can relax as well as energise, help to maintain good health and assist in relieving many common ailments. This ancient art has close relationships with Indian Ayurveda, Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Japanese Shiatsu and is still widely practiced in Thailand. What is involved?
Bodywork performed upon a cushioned mat on the floor Rhythmic compression to energy lines and points Deep stretching
It works on both the superficial and deeper layers of muscles, ligaments, joints and connective tissue and it touches all areas of the body including the nervous, digestive and respiratory systems. Benefits of Thai Bodywork
To relieve excess stored energy and re-energise the mind and body Common feelings of being more open, stretched, refreshed and ‘in balance’ To assist in the release of ‘holding’ patterns of shallow breathing, muscle tension, emotions and rigid thought patterns To assist conditions involving headaches, back pain, irritable bowel syndrome, circulatory problems, respiratory problems, low energy, inflexibility and mobility problems Gentle stretching and lengthening of muscles and slowly opening tight joints – knees, ankles, wrists and especially the hips, shoulders and neck. Whole-body interrelations Every body system is touched on, it’s a one-stop-shop
Ensure light, comfortable clothing is worn. *Because of the nature of this work, it is weight restricted to 80kg. back to top ........................................................................... Skeletal mobilisation Joint Mobilisation Release of deep muscular holding patterns and ligament tension which places tension and stress on the body. These stresses commonly result in promoting poor skeletal posture. Our treatments are highly efficient in bringing fast and effective alignment and subsequent pain release. Common reports:
Increased energy Improved movement efficiency Improved self esteem Increase perceptual abilities Dream awareness Ensure light, comfortable clothing is worn. Three or four consecutive treatments recommended for optimum benefits.
‘Everybody loves an EveryBODY Massage’ back to top ........................................................................... Trigger Point Therapy Trigger point therapy (TPT) is a very effective way to release muscle spasm, eliminate headaches and tight muscles (especially those around the neck & shoulders). Muscle spasm often causes pain and muscle weakness, TPT is an effective approach that addresses many common complaints that occur in specific relationship to muscular dysfunction. EveryBODY Massage –therapies that work! What is a trigger point? Simply put it is a very sensitive area (which may feel like a tiny or large knot) in soft tissue (generally muscle) which when pressed, is locally tender. It can refer pain to another part of the body, some distance from the cause. Or ‘technically’ speaking, A trigger point is a hyperirritable spot in a taut band of muscle, which upon compression gives rise to hypersensitive referred pain, tenderness or other autonomic phenomenon. Where are they? They not only occur in muscles but also in tendons, fascia, periosteum (bone) and skin. Trigger points will often occur in clusters, one main point and several satellite points, all of which produce the same symptoms to a lesser or greater degree. How does the therapy work? The trigger point being like a small knot in the muscle needs to be either compressed for short spurts of time (which can be rather painful at the time) or grounded down so the muscle fibres separate from each other enough to loosen and work freely – hence no pain, no tightness and smiles all around! Therapist Palpation of trigger-points: Direct Compression & Pincer Palpation. *Various stretching techniques are also combined with treatment. back to top ........................................................................... Postural analysis & muscle testing The following is well worth making an appointment for if you have a long-standing or serious condition and are adamant about receiving the maximum benefit from your remedial treatments:
Various tests are performed to determine the shortness, tightness and/or weakness in skeletal musculature, which are placing stress on skeletal structures or joints. (This can cause hypertonic conditions). Review and evaluation of any Lordosis, Kyphosis or Scoliosis condition. Treatment Plan designed to get your body back on track.‘EveryBODY Massage has a therapy for every body’
