Pukeko Therapy was founded by Andre Capiez, a therapeutic and sports masseur with a strong interest in complementary health. Andre decided to establish a massage clinic in Upper Hutt, specialising in sport therapy and treatment massage, because he believed that there was a need for professional massage treatment by fully qualified therapists in Upper Hutt.

Welcome to Pukeko Therapy
 
 
After graduating with a 4-year Bachelor of Health Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Andre went to Nepal for two months with the Acupuncture Relief Project, treating an average of 16 ro 18 patients a day, six days a week, and on his return added acupuncture to his treatments.

The Clinic Working Hours
  • Weekdays: 10am to 8pm
  • Weekend: 10am to 5pm
The clinic is at 2 Princes Street Upper Hutt (with our partner Qi-Therapy) and there is easy on and off-street parking nearby.
Treatment Charges
 
Sports/Treatment/Relaxation massages
  • 30 minutes: $45
  • 60 minutes: $65 PROMOTION
  • 90 minutes: $95 PROMOTION

Massage can incorporate acupuncture or laser treatment for injuries, on request.
 
Acupuncture
  • Initial appointment 60 minutes: $50 PROMOTION
  • Follow-up appointments 45 minutes: $50 PROMOTION
  • Students, beneficiaries, Gold Card: Initial/Follow-up: $45 SPECIAL RATES
Acupuncture can include laser for injuries, cupping, sliding cupping, moxibustion and Gua Sha.
 
Cosmetic acupuncture / Constitutional Facial Acupuncture
  • Pay as you go 90 minutes: $130
  • 8 treatments paid in advance 90 minutes: $910 (includes 1 free treatment)
  • 12 treatments paid in advance 90 minutes: $1,300 (includes 2 free treatments)
Cosmetic Acupuncture includes body and facial acupuncture, herbal masks, natural products & essential oils, and face massage.
Services
 
Acupuncture: Acupuncture has been utilised successfully for thousands of years for the treatment of a variety of different conditions, with the aim of restoring balance on every level and generating physical and emotional change. Acupuncture is one of the most well renowned arms of Chinese medicine and may be utilised on its own or in conjunction with moxibustion, herbal medicine, dietary advice and massage.
 
Sports Therapy: Sports Massage to meet the specific requirements of the athlete’s performance or recovery needs (including pre- and post-even treatment and maintenance).
 
Remedial/Therapeutic Massage: Often referred to as Treatment massage. Utilises a range of techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, PNF stretches, NMT, myofascial release and acupressure.
Treatments may additionally utilise:
 
Myofascial release: Is a powerful method for treating chronic pain and muscle tension through the release of restrictions and tensions in the connective tissue (fascia), the encompasses all of our organs, muscles and bones.
 
Neuro-Muscular Technique: NMT aims to restore balance to the nervous system with the muscular system to remedy the underlying causes of deeply held pain and soft tissue dysfunction. Moxibustion: Burning prepared Chinese mugwort herb over channels, points and body areas, to address pain and stagnation and restore homeostasis.
 
Trigger point, motor point and Dry Needling: Utilises fine and sterile needles inserted into the belly of the muscle, in trigger points or motor points to release tension, pain and restore muscle function.
