The specialised Raynor Massage Therapy is a therapeutic deep tissue massage designed to find and eliminate tension from the body. Drawing on Eastern understandings of the body the massage is designed to unblock any blockages in the flow of the body's energy and muscles to leave the person balanced and tension free. As a natural result of this, the muscles relax and the body re-adjusts itself into its natural posture.
The main goal is to seek out residual body tightness and blockages and remove them. This is accomplished in part through the integration of various Eastern forms of massage such as Shiatsu, Ayurvedic massage, Eastern chiropractic work, Lomi Lomi and yoga breath work. We also apply Eastern medical theories that focus on freeing disruptions of the body’s life force, emotion and subtle energies. This life force is often referred to as chi or prana. Again, our purpose is to utilize any number of techniques and practices, catering to the specific needs of each individual.
Treatments
Intoductory Raynor Massage - 1 hour treatment - $70
For clients who have never had a Raynor Massage and want to find out more or who have already been through the excavation stage of treatments and are in the maintenance phase.
Raynor Massage Excavation - 1.5-2 hours - $120
A more complete treatment allowing us time to get deeper and strip away long set tension and problems. Raynor Massage is a whole body treatment (excluding the breast and genital areas) there is likely to be a concentration on your hands, feet and head with significant work also being carried out on your legs, arms, neck, back, hips and belly.
Full Raynor Massage - 2.5-3 hours - $160
This is the top treatment and is the most effective way of working. Giving us quality time on all areas of your body (excluding private areas) to release the residual tension and energy blockages. You will leave with a sense of deep calm and peace.
What to Expect
Because a Raynor Massage is individualised to the client needs at a particular time, there is no such thing as a 'set' treatment.
Prior to your first treatment you will be asked to fill in a health questionaire, this is so that the therapist will have a good idea of your needs and be able to pick up on any contraindications to massage or to specific oils. This will then be discussed with the therapist.
Treatments are carried out on a massage table with face hole, the table will be covered in towels and if you are comfortable to do so you will be asked to strip to your underwear and lie on the massage table covered in towels, the therapist will leave the room while you undress and re-dress. If you are uncomfortable in undressing or have cultural or religious reasons why you cannot, the whole massage can take place through loose clothing without oils.
The first part of the massage is diagnostic where the therapist will be identifying tension and warming the muscles up, this will quickly move into treatment. You will discuss depth thresholds with the therapist and how deep you are comfortable to work, it is likely that the depth of treatment will increase with treatments as you lose tension and learn to work with the therapist. An area that may be painful to work will cease to be painful once the tension has been removed from it.

After the massage you should drink plenty of water to flush away any toxins that may have been released from your muscles during the massage.
