Therapies Deep Tissue/Remedial/Trigger Point Therapy Deep Tissue or Neuromuscular Therapy is designed for the release of severe tension in muscles and connective tissue. This therapy aims to find and treat the root cause of chronic pain by releasing active trigger points, softening scar tissue, correcting posture and stretching muscle and connective tissue. Relaxation/Swedish Swedish massage is helpful in restoring normal sleep patterns, reducing stress, discomfort and joint stiffness and increasing movement. Swedish massage supports the lymph and cardiovascular systems by increasing waste elimination and blood flow. Sports Sports massage is a soft tissue manipulative therapy tailored to treat your specific muscular needs. It incorporates Swedish techniques as well as trigger point therapy and stretches to increase muscle flexibility and malleability while decreasing chance of injury. Lomilomi/Kahuna Also known as Kahuna massage, traditional Lomi Lomi is a restorative and powerfully healing massage system created and cultivated in Hawaii and practiced by Kahuna (healers). It uses long flowing strokes, forearms and compression to work into muscles releasing tension. The gentle reverse lomilomi strokes encourage detoxification and rejuvenation. Benefits include improved immune response, increased range of movement and flexibility. Chinese Myofascial Cupping Dating back as far as to 3,000bc, suction cupping has been used to promote healing in muscle and connective tissue. Hard plastic cups are placed on the skin and a vacuum is created, by the use of a suction pump, and the muscle and connective tissue is pulled up into the cup. This releases trigger points, deep scar tissue, spasms and tightness. Stagnant blood, waste and inflammation is drawn out of the muscle tissue to the skin, allowing the muscle to heal and oxygenize. A local stretch is achieved in the muscle and connective tissues, resetting muscle memory and promoting malleability and flexibility.
