SERVICES

Holistic Kinesiology is an integrative form of complementary medicine that assists the body, mind and spirit to reconnect to its innate ability to restore balance to optimise health and wellbeing. Holistic Kinesiology has evolved to encompass many aspects of Traditional medicine; to identify physical and emotional stress patterns held in the body. Once imbalances have been detected in the body, a wide range of holistic techniques are used to assist the body to heal itself.

About Kellie

Kellie has been practicing as a Holistic Kinesiologist with her own business in Sydney, Australia since 2011. With the dream of living a quiet life close to nature, Kellie and her partner have recently moved to Ruby Bay (45 minutes from Nelson) in the South Island of New Zealand.

Kellie is extremely passionate about facilitating healing within the body, mind and spirit to restore balance and to encourage the body to heal itself. Kellie is an accredited Holistic Kinesiologist, Nutritionist, Massage Therapist and a published writer. Kellie enjoys empowering clients to adopt a balanced lifestyle to promote health and well being.

Kellie values the Eastern philosophy of targeting the underlying cause of imbalance within the body as well as supporting the body’s innate healing process. Everyone is unique and therefore for effective treatment, each session is tailored specifically to meet individual health needs.

Kellie incorporates her skills in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) based acupressure, energetic healing, muscle testing, massage, cupping and nutritional medicine to help alleviate a wide range of physical and emotional conditions. To maintain health and well being Kellie recognises the importance of addressing both the body and mind as one integrated unit. Kellie guides clients to listen to their inner wisdom. Her sessions encourage individuals to connect to their true essence so that they can be empowered to live an authentic and meaningful life with purpose.

Kellie embodies her passion in living a balanced life. She loves to connect with people and inspire the inward journey towards finding inner peace and happiness. To keep herself feeling centred Kellie regularly practices and enjoys yoga, Qi gong, meditation, playing with her kittens and walking by the ocean with friends.

About Thomas

My studies - and my life’s practice - have given me a unique understanding of the Human Experience. We are multi-faceted jewels. Every different angle through which you look can give you a wealth of understanding. It is the central idea of my sessions that any condition - whether it presents itself physically or emotionally - must be attended to on all levels of experience. Healing is a word that implies resolution. To fully move past something, is to be healed of it. This healing must occur across all levels of your existence, from physical through to energetic. We are not simple 1-dimensional beings, and so nothing can exist in such a state. When you experience pain, you must consider all potential causes and effects. It is not helpful to merely place a Band-Aid over the wound. You must trace it to its origin. This requires an understanding and an exploration of the complete Human Experience – Body, Mind & Spirit. And so, the therapy - and the therapist - must be well versed in all these systems. I have learned that there is no one absolute truth, but there ARE many teachings that can aid us on our journey.

What is Holistic Kinesiology?

Holistic Kinesiology is an integrative form of complementary medicine that assists the body, mind and spirit to reconnect to its innate ability to restore balance to optimise health and wellbeing. Holistic Kinesiology has evolved to encompass many aspects of Traditional medicine; to identify physical and emotional stress patterns held in the body. Once imbalances have been detected in the body, a wide range of holistic techniques are used to assist the body to heal itself.

Holistic Kinesiology works in a unique way with each individual person. There is no set parameter to determine how and when your body will integrate the treatment. Some people may feel like the issue at hand is address and cleared within one session and other people may feel like they need additional follow up treatments.

As a general guide I usually recommend anywhere between 1-3 sessions to address each specific issue. Additional treatments may be required, however this is determined and discussed during the session based upon each case. For general health and wellbeing a “monthly maintenance” appointment is encouraged.

Holistic Kinesiology can help address the following physical and emotional conditions:

  • Low immune function
  • Digestive disturbances
  • Food intolerance/ allergy
  • Weight loss
  • Vitamin/ mineral deficiency
  • Insomnia/ poor sleep
  • Fatigue
  • Acute/ chronic pain
  • Hormonal imbalance
  • Headaches/ migraines
  • Detoxification
  • Poor cognition/ memory
  • Infertility/ pregnancy care
  • Menstrual issues
  • Menopause
  • Candida
  • Elevated cholesterol / blood pressure
  • Adrenal dysfunction
  • Suppressed/ over powering emotions
  • Traumatic past experiences
  • Destructive thought patterns
  • Disconnection from self
  • Low self esteem / self confidence
  • Poor motivation
  • Lack of direction/ purpose
  • Busy thought processes
  • Stress, anxiety and depression

Relaxation Lomi Lomi Massage for Women

Lomi Lomi is a Hawaiian form of massage. The style of Lomi Lomi that Kellie practices is called Heartworks. It is a complete healing system, which brings balance, restoration and heart-opening peace to the body. Lomi Lomi is a very relaxing full body oil massage performed on a massage table.

When we speak of the body we are also speaking of the energetic body surrounding the physical body. When we massage, energy blockages are released allowing life force to flow through the mind and body. On all levels there is unity. The Heartworks Lomi Lomi method is a form of healing therapy that has its roots firmly planted in the intuitive or spiritual core of bodywork. Using the medium of touch from the heart and inner focus through meditation we can heal ourselves, release the past and embrace the now.

This flowing style of Hawaiian bodywork includes long fluid rhythmic strokes over the whole body with the hands. This creates a dance like movement, which with deep breathing leaves the practitioner in a clear meditative space and the client in a state of peace. Hot stones may also be used during the massage to enhance the treatment.

Benefits of Lomi Lomi massage include the following:

  • Opens the heart
  • Lymphatic Drainage
  • Improves circulation
  • Releases blocked energy and emotions
  • Healing for mind, body and spirit
  • Stimulates immune system
  • Stimulates respiratory system
  • Stimulates digestive system
  • Relaxes the mind, recharges the body
  • Nurtures, calms and restores

Thai Massage

Traditional Thai massage (TTM) is a rich synthesis of ancient health traditions stretching back more than 1000 years. By combining Ayurvedic (classical Indian) medical theory and the postural dynamics of Hatha yoga with their own health beliefs, the Thai's developed a very relaxing, therapeutic and graceful system of massage. Traditional Thai massage is applied as a full-body treatment to treat a broad range of physical discomforts and stress-related disorders.

Traditional Thai massage employs the hands, elbows, knees and feet in unique and innovative ways, and these techniques are often associated with stretching manoeuvres, many directly related to yoga postures. TTM encourages the movement of energy (Lom) in the body, via a network of channels known as Sen. Some important physiological benefits of TTM are: improvements to the immune, lymphatic and circulatory systems, relaxation and strengthening for the muscles, increased suppleness of the joints and a deep sense of relaxation for the mind and body.

Traditional Thai massage is performed on a floor mat, wearing stretchy yoga pants or long flowing fisherman pants (provided by Kellie).

Cupping

Cupping is a traditional therapy that is practiced to optimise health and wellbeing in many cultures throughout the world. Cupping is usually performed by introducing heat into a glass cup and placing it immediately onto the skin. Another popular method is to withdraw the air from inside the cup with a suction pump. The vacuum created produces a suction effect that: increases blood circulation to the local area, relaxes muscle tissue and releases factors causing pain. Cupping moves vital energy, support detoxification processes and corrects internal imbalances.

Within Kellie's cupping sessions, expect to feel a slight suction feeling from the cups, but no pain. The cupping marks appear on the skin immediately and typically last for approximately 3-5 days after the treatment. The marks will continue to fade during this period until they disappear completely.

Chinese Astrology

Chinese Astrology aids in understanding your character and your capacities. We look at your light and your shadow. It is not about judgement, nor is it about running from weakness in favour of strength. It is about acceptance and about balance. It is about planning your journey down your own unique river.

Chinese Astrology is a fantastic practice that allows a person to understand themselves and their path. It is not a crystal ball through which I gaze and predict your future. The Chinese were thoroughly uninterested in such vanities. This traditional practice is based on the practices of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. These philosophies teach upon the nature of being, and of the union of wisdom and of spirit. It is through this practice that we discover our true self. We look at your experience from a position of non-judgement. No good, no bad. It just is. Life is beautiful in all of its colours and shades, and this practice highlights that view.

Feng Shui

Feng Shui is the sister practice to Astrology. It takes the inner energetic experience and translates it to the outside world. Your home must reflect your experience for harmony to truly exist. Feng Shui assess your physical surrounds and advises you on the best way to optimise your home or business to fulfil your Path. A simple change in your physical surrounds can have a dramatic change in your wellbeing. Feng Shui is not just the colour of your walls and the orientation of your bed. It is about aligning yourself with your unique purpose.

Qi Gong

Qi Gong (Chi Kung) nourishes and promotes health through breathing, movement and meditative techniques. The most profound and awakening practice that truly unifies & heals the Body, Mind & Spirit. Qi Gong is a physical practice akin to Yoga that attunes us to our natural balance. Health and Well-Being springs forth from regular Qi Gong practice. Breathing easy and sleeping well are just the beginning!

Shiatsu Massage

Shiatsu represents a deep understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), refined through Japanese massage and healing techniques. Shiatsu embraces and actively connects you to a sense of health and wellbeing. Through an amazingly sensitive diagnosis of Body, Mind & Spirit, we will use techniques of Acupressure, Massage, Yoga and Nutrition to bring you back to balance.

Nutritional Medicine

Nutrition is simply living with the seasons. With care and understanding we nurture our core. And through good digestion we become good healthy people. I am so very passionate about food. To cook is one of my joys. Eating seasonal foods with an understanding of how to cook them is perhaps the singular most important aspect of a healthy physical life. We are what we eat!
