I offer both short-term and long-term counselling and psychotherapy to clients 18 years and older. Sessions are generally scheduled on a regular weekly basis. A limited number of evening times are available.
In my analytic psychotherapy practice I work predominantly from a Jungian perspective which places high value on the role of myth, image, dreams and other creative products of the unconscious.
Astrological consultations are available for those seeking to understand their archetypal patterning or psychological constitution, and their current transit trends. An archetypal perspective can also serve as a particularly useful referential guide during the major transitional passages experienced by each of us upon entry into early adulthood, midlife, and late adulthood. These passages, while essentially purposeful and developmentally significant, can be experienced as disorienting and traumatic unless we have ways in which we can understand and make meaningful sense of what it is we are going through. An archetypal perspective is one such frame of reference that can help to orient us at each major transitional threshold of the life cycle.Natal charts

About Rachael
My original academic pathway was in art, at the Elam School of Fine Arts, UOA, during the years 1973-1976.
After a period of teaching art and art history at secondary level in Auckland I began to actively pursue my interests in psychology and archetypal astrology. My formal training in counselling and psychotherapy began with a masters degree in Counselling from the University of Auckland which I completed in 1998. A lifelong interest in archetypal theory, and in Jung's perspectives on the nature of the Psyche, lead me to explore opportunities for further study.
I am currently undertaking training in Jungian psychoanalysis through ANZSJA CGJI, Auckland.
During the years 1999-2005 I worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist for students in a tertiary education setting in Auckland.
I have been in private practice since 2005.
I am available for counselling, psychotherapy, Jungian analytic psychotherapy, and astrological consultations by appointment.
