“The intention behind using energy medicine is to treat the body and the spirit equally.” - Caroline Myss WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY? Homoepathy is a system of medicine, which was founded by the German physician Dr Samuel Hahnemann in 1790. There has been alot of work in the development of Homeopathy in the past 200 years, in that now we have over 3000 medicines at our fingertips. WHAT CAN HOMEOPATHY TREAT?
  • recurrent colds, influenza
  • ear and throat infections
  • sinusitis
  • menstrual complaints
  • migraine
  • allergic disorders - asthma, eczema, hayfever
  • first aid situations - sprains, bruising, burns, shock
  • infections - herpes, STD's
  • auto immune diseases
  • skin diseases
  • gastric and intestinal disorders,
  • arthritis
  • behaviour / psychological disorders IS HOMEOPATHY SAFE? Homeopathic medicine (remedy) is administed in very small doses, it can be given to children and adults alike, even during pregnancy without worry about the dosage doing harm or having any toxic side effects. WHAT HAPPENS DURING A CONSULTATION? For the first consultation, between 1 to 1 1/2 hours is allocated for you. This is necessary because an understanding of the “whole” person is required to prescribe a remedy. During this time you will do most of the talking and “telling the story of your condition”. Mental, emotional, feelings and unusual symptoms are important so it is good to be honest about what you feel or fear or have anxieties about – they all make up what is “you”. You will also be asked about some general characteristics about you and your personal and family health history. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I TAKE A REMEDY? Homeopathic remedies act differently for each individual, sometimes action is immediate and at other times it may take a few weeks before you see or feel any improvement. Generally there should be a general feeling of well being, better sleep and ease of complaints. WHAT ABOUT FOLLOW UPS? For chronic treatment, three weeks to one month after the first consultation, we will have a follow up consultation (usually ½ hour duration). This is to assess how the remedy has acted. Should you be concerned about how the remedy is acting or if any new symptoms have presented, it is important to contact me prior to this follow up. WHAT ABOUT OTHER MEDICINES, SUBSTANCES AND THEREPIES? If you are on medication or are having other therapies, I will need to know about these. Generally, homeopathy can be used alongside other medications and therapies. You may be asked to avoid some things like coffee or peppermint while undergoing treatment, this is due to the ability of strong smelling substances sometimes negating the action of the remedy.
