The Natural Healing Hands is a complementary therapy service that provides a completely holistic approach offering a variety of treatments which are custom built for the individual need and expectations. Being totally holistic and naturally safe, a treatment plan is devised upon body imbalances. These imbalances are subsequently discussed and implemented with the client at every treatment stage. A continual ongoing review with client and practitioner is also provided to discuss and to ascertain progress or to modify the treatment protocol where necessary.

Prior to the initial consultation a questionnaire is provided for the client to complete. These details are initially discussed to build a case history and to also monitor progress.

Treatment therapies provided by the Natural Healing Hands are Kinesiology, Reiki and Bio-Energy-Detox. Each therapy can be utilized effectively as a standalone or alternatively combined. The chosen individual or combined treatments are based on the client questionnaire with practitioner recommendation. However the final choice of treatment would ultimately be the clients decision.

David is a New Zealand, Charter of Health Practitioner, registered to practice Kinesiology and Reiki Nationally and Internationally. Being a qualified and registered Electrical Engineer with a University, Engineering Degree having previously worked within the Electrical Industry for over 25 years practicing in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Due to a health condition I first became acquainted to Kinesiology and Reiki 10 years ago and since then been qualified to practice both modalities for approximately 7 years. Having a scientific background I am totally fascinated by the mechanics of kinesiology (the science of muscle movement) and how it can be utilised to identify the root cause of individual bodily symptoms. With the impetus to succeed and the passion as a health practitioner I am successfully treating people of all age groups with diverse health conditions from different Countries. I also have a particular interest in patients suffering with M.E. / C.F.S. As a former sufferer I believe I have adequate experience, empathy and compassion to help people attain a better quality of health by utilising Kinesiology and Reiki. I look forward to working with you.

Kinesiology

What is Kinesiology?

Interestingly, lots of my clients ask me what kinesiology is and what it means Kinesiology is a method of assessing imbalances within the body and finding the best therapy to resolve that problem. Muscle testing is a method to obtain this information from the body directly, hence very similar to accessing information from a computer memory. Kinesiology takes out the guesswork involved in choosing remedies or utilising other healing techniques. Kinesiologists are trained to understand these principles to assess the person's health problems, thereby re-balancing the body's systems. These techniques are pulled from many therapies including Chiropractic (excluding manual bone adjustments), Acupuncture, Nutritional Supplementation, Herbs, Phytobiophysics, Bach-flowers, Colour and Sound etc.

What does the treatment entail?

The initial consultation with treatment takes approximately one and a half to two hours. During this session the client questionnaire is discussed with the kinesiologist to ascertain a full case history used as building blocks, ultimately addressing the root cause. The client will then be asked to lay fully clothed on a therapy couch whereby various muscles are tested. Like the detective the kinesiologist continues to build a full picture noting each imbalance and correcting with an appropriate treatment protocol. These imbalances are then reviewed at the end of the treatment session with the client, whom with the support of the kinesiologist subsequently takes responsibility to making these positive changes. Further follow-up treatment sessions are usually on a monthly basis, which typically last for approximately one hour.

How can treatment help or be of benefit?

By working holistically the kinesiologist is able treat the client effectively to dealing with their imbalances. Through experience I have found a majority of people respond very well to kinesiology. Kinesiology can be adapted efficiently in dealing with structural, chemical, emotional, and electromagnetic imbalances. Classical Kinesiology is diverse within its approach and encompasses many types of treatment protocol including the aforementioned. Typical health problems treated are candida, blood-sugar imbalances, parasites, back pain, irritable bowel syndrome, PMS and menopausal symptoms, C.F.S, depression. The list is not exhaustive but it is intended to give some idea of the scope of Kinesiology.

Reiki

Reiki and what is it?

Reiki, pronounced "Ray-key" is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy that is all around us. Reiki is the name given to a system of natural healing which evolved from the experience and dedication of Dr. Mikao Usui, a professor of Theology who lived in Japan in the last century. Dr Usui developed this healing system from ancient Buddhist teachings after many years of study, research and meditation. He spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki. Reiki still continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have trained in the tradition passed down from Master to student. There is know belief system attached to Reiki, so anyone can receive or be taught to give Reiki. The only prerequisite is the desire to be healed.

How can its treatment help, or be of benefit to you?

The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a trained practitioner is a very simple process. The recipient, fully clothed, simply lies on a couch and relaxes. If the client is unable to lie down, the treatment can be given in a sitting position. The most important thing being, the recipient is as comfortable as possible. As mentioned, there is no need to remove any clothing because Reiki will pass through anything. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. A full treatment usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours. Subsequent treatments are usually recommended to complete the course, usually 2 or 3 additional treatments. It is possible to heal at any level of being, albeit physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Acute injuries can be helped to heal very quickly, but more chronic illness takes longer. In some cases such as terminal illness, there is not enough time for the process of disease to be reversed. However, in such cases there is usually great benefit and enhancement of the quality of life, giving a sense of peace and acceptance during the time remaining. Reiki healing can be given anywhere at any time as no special equipment is needed. The practitioner is a channel which the energy is drawn through by the need or imbalance in the recipient. Neither person has to use any effort of will or concentration during this process. As running water smoothes the jagged edges of the rock until it is small enough to roll away, Reiki flows to the areas of need, soothing pain and supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki Supports all forms of treatment both orthodox and complementary. Copyright 2008 David Hodge. All Rights Reserved
