Circumcision

Circumcision refers to the surgical removal of the penis’ epidermis or foreskin. The elective surgery is generally performed on one-day-old infants, but can be performed on older boys and men, should they experience inflammation or foreskin infections. The procedure is not, in most cases, a medical inevitability but people elect to undergo (or have their children undergo) due to personal or cultural preferences. While complications are rare, discomfort, bleeding, urethra irritations and infections can occur, though all are fairly straightforward to treat.
