Flaky Scalp


Flaky scalp refers to a condition where the patient experiences an increased loss of dead skin cells from the scalp. Causes may be manifold and include among others, dandruff, seborrhoeic eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis, changes in weather, some types of medication, and strong shampoos that may cause irritation. Depending on the cause of the symptoms treatment may consists of the usage of anti-dandruff shampoos or anti-fungal shampoos, scalp preparations remedies that contain coal tar and zinc. Other treatment options include herbal based remedies, moisturizing oils or conditioners.
