Fluid Retention / Oedema

Fluid retention or Oedema is a condition characterized by the body’s inability to excrete fluids sufficiently. This condition causes a swelling that is named Oedema. The causes of the condition are various and include among others, a salt imbalance in the body, pregnancy, metabolic or renal disorders or changes in the menstrual cycle. Oedema can be treated in various ways and treatment may consist of keeping the affected body part elevated, acupuncture, herbal based medicine, nutritional supplements, Homeopathy, massage, Traditional Chinese Medicine, dietary interventions and usage of diuretics.
