Athens Olympic Games 2004Good Massage Managing Director Jason MacDonald has an extensive background in outdoor pursuits instruction including abseiling, climbing, rafting and is a qualified PADI scuba instructor. Jason holds a gym/fitness instructor qualification and maintains a strong interest in tramping, white water kayaking, mountain biking/cycling ( Le Race 2007/08, Around Brunner 2008) and running (completed the 60km Kepler Challenge... in the distant past and the Croesus Crossing mountain run 2010 )
Jason has a Diploma in Massage Therapy from the widely respected Canterbury College of Natural Medicine in Christchurch, New Zealand and has enjoyed being in practice for more than eight years.
Jason has worked with national and international teams including:

- New Zealand Olympic Team and New Zealand Swim Team at the Athens Olympic Games 2004
- Canadian Wheelchair Rugby team

Originally from Dunedin, I've spent the last 7 years living in Wellington, which is where I trained in the practice of therapeutic massage. My fiancee and I moved to Christchurch in early July of this year, and are enjoying getting to know a new city, and the surrounding countryside. I have a huge love of the beach, the arts, and evenings spent with good food, people, and music (especially jazz and early 90s hip hop...). I like to keep up to date with human rights, environmental, and animal welfare issues, and at the moment am particularly interested in the subject of food and nutrition. I am currently studying nutritional science, and hope one day to practice both massage, and nutrition consulting side by side.
Good Massage maintain a strong referral network and work closely with other modalities including coaches, trainers, chiropractic and acupuncture.
Jason is a registered member of Massage New Zealand (RMT).
